In the 250th year of American Independence, renowned historian Kathleen DuVal discusses Native sovereignty before, during, and after the Revolution, drawing from her Pulitzer Prize-Winning book Native Nations and earlier work to illustrate how Native leaders such as Shawnee Chief Tecumseh united tribes against U.S. expansion through diplomacy and confederation.
