AI Literacies Series - How will AI impact our teaching practice? Online
The purpose of the AI Literacies Community of Practice is to create a deeper understanding of artificial intelligence technologies and a shared language around literacies and pedagogies, and how this relates to information literacy. According to Wenger, communities of practice are “groups of people who share a concern or a passion for something they do and learn how to do it better as they interact regularly.[1]” Through a series of co-facilitated bimonthly virtual meetings, we will discuss (1) AI literacies (2) AI ethics (3) AI teaching impacts 4) AI pedagogies. In companion to the virtual discussions, we will hold bimonthly tea chats for open discussion related to AI topics to foster a space for conversation and community building. We believe this approach will provide a greater opportunity for our colleagues to learn and share about AI as they develop their practice in alignment with campus initiatives.
