Meet the T&P Committee

Meet the T&P Committee Online

This session introduces faculty to members of the Library Tenure and Promotion committee and explains their role in the T&P and mid-career processes. Library faculty going up for tenure or promotion are invited to gain insights into how the committee evaluates packets and how their reports are developed. Faculty approaching their mid-career review will learn how to use the feedback from the T&P committee for a more successful tenure and promotion review. The panel will address concerns or misconceptions and share common errors the committee notes each year. There will also be plenty of time for Q&A.

Outcomes:

  • Understanding Committee Roles: Participants will gain a clear understanding of the tenure and promotion committee's composition, responsibilities, and decision-making processes.
  • Open Dialogue and Collaboration: Through discussion, faculty members will have an opportunity to engage directly with committee members, ask questions, address concerns or misconceptions, and learn about common errors the committee notes each year.
  • Building Trust and Mutual Understanding: By fostering a collaborative atmosphere, this session can help build mutual understanding to better support overall effectiveness and fairness of the review process.
