Medical Terminology: Asynchronous Course Online

Welcome to Medical Terminology: Communication in Medicine from the Health Science Center Libraries! This asynchronous workshop will help you: 

  • Identify how medical terms are constructed
  • Describe the organization of the body and directional terms used in medicine
  • Recognize medical terms as applied to body systems and functions
  • Learn terms applied to diseases, diagnoses, and treatments

This course is appropriate as an introduction to medical terminology. This is an asynchronous course designed to take place over three sessions. Please utilize the tabs to navigate between each session. When registering, please use the same name and email for each, then complete the course evaluation to receive your certificate. Sessions 1, 2, and 3 make up the single course. Participants should plan to complete all three sessions in order to receive a certificate of completion.
