We’re Off to See the (Lib)Wizard: How to Create Your Own LibWizard Tutorial Online
Do you want to create simple asynchronous tutorials for library users, but does getting started in the process feel over the rainbow or make you wish that you only had a brain? Don’t worry! Courtney and Ariel will whisk you off to see the (Lib)Wizard, with a presentation following the yellow brick road through their own experiences creating a LibWizard tutorial on medical terminology and notes on ways to avoid falling asleep in a poppy field of pitfalls. Our hands-on learning activity creating a short tutorial of your own should prove to you that there is no wizard behind the curtain: the power to create beautiful self-driven tutorials was in you all along! We hope to empower you to defy gravity in the creation of your own future tutorials, which can be applicable to both subject specialists and technical services professionals alike.
Objectives:
At the end of this session, participants will:
- Recognize appropriate subjects for an LibWizard asynchronous tutorial
- Identify the challenges and opportunities in creating a LibWizard tutorial
- Create and edit an existing sandbox LibWizard tutorial
